Albert attacked people on the Carl Hagenbeck’s Zoologischer Circus and was given to Zoo Frankfurt when the tour arrived Frankfurt.

Albert was finally declared "untrainable" and was shot by the "experienced Limburger Elephant hunter“ Josef Menges inside the stable, why parts of the stables had to be disambled, in order to get the body out.
