2011-08-11: Gange is the first elephant which is born in the elephant camp and has come to the city to be trained for Dasara. Her mother Mary, 55, is among the last batch of elephants captured employing kheddah operations that attracted foreigners to Mysore during the reign of the Maharajas. Mary was captured at Kakanakote forests and Gange is her first child. Six years ago, the duo were separated as Gange was moved to Balle elephant camp.

2011-08: According to sources, Ganga, from Balle forest range, could be pregnant. Ganga had earlier delivered a calf about a year back. But the calf died shortly after it was born.
