Chamba arrived to the Taipei Zoo unknown date, relocated from the International Animal Exchange (Ferndale), in United States.

The North American Regional Studbook lists this elephant as Lost-to-Follow up, or a "documented animal whose current location is unknown." Elephant.se will assume this elephant is dead until more information is provided or discovered. In the 2005 Edition of the North American Regional Studbook for the African Elephant, this animal is listed as alive. The 2008 SSP Update lists this elephant as Lost to Follow-up.
