These elephants are assumed to be the same individual.

The 2010 edition of the studbook lists elephant #603 (Wally) with the same information as the 2005 & 2007 editions, though a corrected arrival date to Ringling Brothers in 1991. There her name is changed to Emma. Her birth date is changed to 1971. Elephant #423 is no longer listed in this edition of the studbook.


Emma was purchased by the Toledo Zoo in March 1973 and resided for nine years, there known as Wally. She was traded back to the International Animal Exchange for two young African elephants, Tembo and Renee, in June 1982. She was later purchased by Bobby Moore and sold later to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
