On behalf of the Bombay Nature History Museum, Ajay Desai started to study asian elephants behaviour and ecology at Mudumalai in south India in the 80´s. A task as much difficult as dangerous. Since then he is known as one of the best experts on the asian elephants life in the wild, and is a member of the IUCN´s Asian elephant specialist group.
